Shaun and June
Our story begins March 2008, I (shaun age 48yrs) had been divorced for 3yrs when I decided to join a dating site. I had been on 2 dating site for approx 2yrs and had a couple of 6 month relationships, when I decided to have a break.
June aged 44yrs had been single for 6 months when she first tried Dating Direct in March-08, she decided to sign a 6 month contract, I on the other hand had received an email from DD asking to to sign for 1 weekend for £1 so I decided I had nothing to loose. The first day after rejoining I received a wink from June and checked out her profile and found out we appeared to be very compatible and decided to chat on the DD site to get to know each other better as June felt this was a "Safe" way of meeting people.
Within a short while we decided to meet on a date, and within 10 minutes I knew I felt this was "The one" for me, unbeknown to me June felt the same, however she was due to fly to Spain for a short break which cost us both about £90 in txts and telephone calls.
In June-08 I had an operation on my hand and June asked me to move in with her to look after me and I never left. Within a short time I had proposed to June and I'm happy to say she accepted. In Nov-08 June lost her job after 26yrs with the same company which was a very difficult time for her, however Christmas came and she put on a brave face.
In Feb we decided to Get married on Nov 13th 2009, we both had been married before but both knew that this was so right, however the road to true love is not always smelling of roses. In Mar-09 June was diagnosed with a tumour in her throat, after several test it was decided that she would have an operation to remove the tumour, yet through all her lows over the coming months she was relentless in organizing everything to do with the wedding. In June-09 she was taken into hospital to have it removed, even on the day of the operation she was telling the surgeon he had to do a good job as she didn't want to see any scars on her wedding photographs, we had 6 weeks wait to see if it was benign which thankfully it was.
So on November 13th 2009 we had the most wonderful wedding surrounded by all our closest friends and family in a 14th century castle, followed by a caribbean cruise honeymoon.
We also know another 2 couples who have met throught dating direct, we would never have found each other without the help of Dating Direct and would like to say a big "Thank You", and wish everyone on the site every success in finding your partner because they are out there somewhere just waiting to be found.
I wish you all well in the future!
